Sunday was also my Mom's birthday! It was nice that she was up here and we were all able to spend it together...usually I am working on Sunday's (but not anymore!!)

The Farm
On Sunday we took the boys to a little "farm". Its just a block or two from our house...I guess its there as a educational thing. I know a lot of the elementary schools go there on field trips. Anyway, I thought it would be neat for the guys to see farm animals close up. I think they enjoyed it. Scott Jr. ("Scooter") rode a pony for the 1st time, and got to pet some of the sheep and one of their goats. We are going to the Cheyenne Mtn Zoo on Thursday, I cannot wait to watch them feed the Giraffes!!
And little Jacob got to pet a goat for the first time ;) He is 15 months old, not talking quite yet, but trying his hardest! The minute he starts, watch out ;)

Weekend
My family (aunt, uncle, cousin and her husband and 2 sons) from California came out to Colorado last weekend. They headed straight up here to Fort Collins, to see us, the house, and mainly New Belgium Brewery. I got tickets to actually go on a guided tour, which I have never done before (we usually do the self guided tours). It was really cool, you get to see much more of the brewery. Its just crazy how big it is now, like 3 times the size since the first time I went there!

At the end of the tour you get to go down the employee slide!! It's very steep with VERY tight turns, but it makes everyone laugh, so why not ;)

Christine!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY STINE!!!
I was going through old pictures! There are just way too many to choose from, and the sad part is a majority of the good ones were before I had a digital...and I have no scanner, oh well. We have known each other since 1999! You were the only girl at Jake's parties that would talk to me...and actually was/is not fake!

We've been through a lot together. Many silly times together and some bad ones. Several trips to vegas, almost every tailgate/football game, moab trips, and a few powells. We got to start thinking of other places to go!

Thank you for always being there when I needed someone! or some place to live ;)
You are my partner in crime, and one of my best friends!
Have fun throwing yourself out of a plane...sorry I will not be there! (yeah not really) Welcome to the 30 and over crowd, it all goes downhill from here ;)

Dinner
I don't know if you've heard but Matty makes a mean steak! He is a great cook, and an amazing griller. The steak is always cooked perfectly and then he goes and tops it off with little pats of blue cheese butter...mmm! No wonder I cant lose weight...Oh yeah, and I'm lazy ;)
Matty and I had a nice gay day on Saturday...we went to the salon together and got our hair cut. We clean up nice, hugh? This is why steaks were involved Saturday night ;) (by the way...I always make him take pictures with me like this, he's a good sport about it)

Peppers, Tomatoes
Our garden is actually not doing too bad! We only lost one plant, and the ones that are left are growing like crazy, and amazingly are producing veggies. We have one pepper that is gigantic, and I have no idea when to pick it. It's a Marconi pepper, and they say you can pick it when its green but better/sweeter to wait until it turns red. It is over 6 inches long, and it is pulling the plant down to the side. Oh well, I'm hoping the flowers that have bloomed on the plant will produce and help balance it out. Our tomatoes are growing, and so are my cucumbers! Yes...I am a huge dork...I'm really excited about eating all of our "crop"
The tall plants against the fence are cherry tomatoes and small yellow pear shaped tomatoes! When I posted a pic back in May they were shorter than that crossbeam they are towering over. (contain yourselves!!)
So HOT :(
Its been so hot here this past week, in the upper 90's. I know, not as hot as some places, and no humidity...Texas! But it still sucks. I feel so bad for Riley, with her black fur, and long coat. And all she wants to do is be outside! We were trying to water our crunchy grass and in turn created a monster ;) It had to have felt wonderful!

Carl's Socks
You need to make sure you have your sound on for this one.
Carl has a sock fetish... I have watched him pull clean socks out of my dresser in the wee hours of the morning. And he is pretty particular, they have to be rolled up together, he bites on to as much of the sock as possible then proceeds to meow through them. So its this weird muffled meow, hard to describe, and it usually happens between 1 and 4 in the morning. Oh yeah, and you cant watch him, he'll stop. The other night he found one of his (or my) favorite pair of socks, he was so happy he didn't even care that it was only 9pm.
Anyway, the video is kind of boring, your just looking from our couch towards the kitchen where he is, with his sock. He makes an appearance at the end :)

The floor
We went tile shopping on Saturday! I am so excited about getting that awful carpet out of the kitchen, I can hardly contain myself. Carl was helping us decide ;) The darker smaller sample on top is the granite counter top we like...of course its the most expensive ;( But we saved on the appliances right? God, don't you just love that carpet?!
The wall
This is the wall in our kitchen that we are going to be knocking out, into a half wall. On the other side of the wall is the living room, so it will make it nice and open...it wont feel like the kitchen is cut off from the rest of the house so much. The new oven will go where the fridge is, and the cabinets below will be painted white, and we will be hopefully getting granite countertops (if we can afford it) We were talking about making a little bar top, so people can sit on the living room side and talk to the people in the kitchen.
Kitchen...The Beginning!
Last Thursday Matty and I received a very special shipment! Our new kitchen appliances!!!!! We are extremely lucky in the fact that our friend Jake used to work for a construction company that builds new homes, and he was willing to help us out and hook us up with a great deal on all brand new, pretty top of the line stuff!!! We are incredibly grateful! We never would have been able to buy that nice of stuff at regular cost. The delivery included our new gas range/oven combo, a hood, a dishwasher, and a beautiful new fridge!!! The only problem is they have to live in the garage until we are able to start the whole makeover :( THANK YOU SO MUCH JAKE!!!

Shorty and Pickles
This is mainly for you Sara...It's only fair you see a picture of Shorty, I show Bri pictures of Marlow all the time ;)The other little one is Pickles, they both belong to my one of the girls I work with. They were in the clinic the other day and they were just so cute laying down on that giant bed together I could not resist taking pictures. The best part is that she drives a VW Bug and he covers the entire back seat, head hanging out to one side ;) They are awsome dogs! She also has a little Italian Greyhound, but Nelle stayed home yesterday. Quite the threesome:)

Brewfest
Last weekend was the Annual Brewers Festival (Brewfest) here in Fort Collins. We went down on Saturday for a couple hours in the hot sun, and waited in the long lines. It's usually fun to go to, but we're getting old now...and Sunday's are looking more like our day to go. You know, when its not so crowded and there are not so many of "those darn" college kids around. We had enough beers to completely dehydrate us, and not enough food to keep us awake ;)
And when you pass out, watch out!! We're so crazy we pile shoes on top of you!!
