Our little visitor

When we were doing yard work on Sunday, Matt came across this little guy...
Its really strange, we have no idea how he got into the back yard. Its completely fenced.I wouldn't think he would dig underneath the fence to get in.
Where did he come from? We have small creek near the house, but he would have had to cross 2 streets to get here...strange???

The weekend

I had a "full" weekend
I worked on Saturday morning.
After work we went to Brewfest; well, sort of...by the time Matt and I got down there the line was WAY to long, well over an hour wait. Lame. Instead we went into the thick of things and straight to a bar where B and Megan were hanging out in the air conditioning...a much better idea, if you ask me.We met up with more friends; as the night progressed we became a little more obnoxious and camera happy. blah blah blah, it was fun :)Matt and I spent pretty much all Sunday planting some new vegetable plants and working on the kitchen. We have a real deadline now! July 27th is when the counter tops are delivered. We would like to have everything done and ready to go by then...it's going to be a busy month!

Chicago

After Indiana Matt had to stay in Chicago 2 nights for work...so I got to explore the city by myself (like a big girl) during the day. I went to Navy Pier...Walked by Buckingham Fountain (or the Married with Children fountain)...Actually got to do fun stuff with Matt too. We went on a river boat tour...Ate some great pizza...(no Dana, we didn't go to Kingston Mines. We really should have-Next time)Went to Shedd Aquarium...
I like Chicago :)

Pie

Have I ever mentioned that Matt's mom makes great pies! I believe she made 6 total last weekend. Two blueberry, two cherry, one rhubarb, and one apple! Matt and his dad were in heaven.They did not last long at all!

Matt's Family Reunion

Last Friday we went to Indiana for Matt's family reunion. This was his mom's side of the family. It was much smaller this year than in years past...only 20 or so, compared to at one time over 100.
It was nice and relaxing...if you could get past all the bugs. I think I ended up with over 20 mosquito bites. Yes I did put on bug spray. It was right on a beautiful little lake that had lots of bullfrogs and turtles. We saw a couple muskrats and some deer, and of course coon poo ;) It was good to meet more of his family, and to see his sister, her girlfriend, and uncle again.

More Derby Action

Went to another derby bout last weekend...took a bunch of pictures, playing with my new camera. Whitney (pink helmet) is getting better and better each time we see her skate, its so much funSome of the names are great...one of the best is Moustache Rider, her number is E10 (dirty girls)

Messing around

I love my new camera
Ive been messing around taking all kinds of nerdy pictures...you know of the garden, the pets, etc...She is barking at me to play with her...Carl shaking his headOur garden is doing ok...our tomato plants are doing the best :)We have had SO much rain this June...and a lot of hail, the lettuce has taken the brunt of it, and some of our pepper plants did not make it :(
(have you seen that there have been tornado's in Denver just about every day for the past week)

Kitchen progress

We have been making some progress in the kitchen. Our counter tops were ordered and measured, we are just waiting for them to be made!

This is a good thing...its giving us somewhat of a deadline ;) So now the cabinets need to be painted. Last Sunday, Matt sanded down all the cabinet doors and faces, and we primered them. Even with just the primer on them, it looks so much brighter! I love it.Matt also got me a new camera for my birthday!! I don't feel so lost not having one anymore ;) Thank you babe :)

It's been so long since we have actually celebrated a birthday together...I think its been 10 years? Right? Our 21st.That's been way too long!! Maybe we should make a pact that when we turn 35, it will be together.

(then we can have more mimosa's, and wear sunglasses inside a restaurant with no windows...hehe)I love you and I miss you very much!!

So bored

It kind of sucks here right now.
Matt is in Toronto, Canada, he's been there since last Tuesday
And he doesn't know when he is coming back...it could be a few more days or another week :(
Boo his work...I want him back tomorrow!!
