Winter Cabining

We went back up to Whitney's cabin last weekend. It was a very nice relaxing weekend...I did nothing but sit in the cabin by the wood burning stove enjoying my beer, and hanging out. I brought up some yarn, because I am obsessed with making hats, but I didn't even get around to that. The boys smoked a pork roast and brisket on Saturday, they were excellent. The one downfall to the weekend...going to the bathroom outside :( It was very cold! And of course Riley was there :)

Not to worry, No actual fish were harmed in this event

Can anyone explain to me why Carl is so weird? Besides the fact that he is a cat, right, I know that already.
I don't know why he does this, maybe he gets thirsty right in the middle of his "playtime" or he just likes his favorite toys soggy...needless to say I have found numerous things in the water dish. Usually its the sock he meows through, or receipts...but this time it was just too good, I had to get a picture. And he was just so proud, he ran right over to his dish to show me when I went into the kitchen.

Raymond K Runyon

Today was my Grandpa's birthday...He was and always will be one of my most favorite people.
Ive been thinking about him a lot lately. There are so many things I wish he could have seen and been a part of.
Like silly little things like coming out to Colorado and seeing my new house, and meeting my crazy animals. Or the best would have been meeting Matt, they would have gotten along very well...especially if they were teasing me ;)

I miss him, always will...
and I will always be his nuisance

Too clumsy to be responsible :(

Work started off today much better than yesterday...the cute little puppy that came in sick on Monday returned today brighter and more alert! She is only 1.4 lbs, and just so cute!! Well long story short...we watched her today making sure she ate and drank. I took her outside to go to the bathroom, and when I brought her back in, people started asking about her, and while I was holding her...she did a backwards flip out of my arms and on to the arm of the chair my friend was in then on to the floor!!! :( Oh my god!! It was the worst feeling EVER!!! I cant even tell you how bad I felt, pretty much in tears, I am probably going to have nightmares about it!!
She is fine, no broken bones...and no she didn't land on her head so hopefully no brain damage? I felt like a HUGE jerk!! Not to mention there were three people that did not work there that witnessed this, one of our clients picking up his dog, and two potential ones, SO terrible!

"Merry New Year!!"
Another year down
Hopefully this new year finds everyone healthy and happy
We spent New Years down in Denver at Jake and Mel's house. It was very fun, I got to see a lot of people that I haven't seen in a while. New Years day was very lazy, we started the day with mimosas and bacon, then ended it with way too much couch sitting/recouping.As for resolutions??
1. No more crashing bikes ;)
2. You know that same old stuff...eat healthier, exercise more
3. REDO THE KITCHEN!!!!
4. Keep in touch better, I've kind of been sucking at that lately

Christmas

Christmas was a little stressful for me this year, well at least the weeks leading up to it...
Money was really tight (which is nothing new) and on top of that all my hospital bills started coming in :( Insurance is a great thing, but I still owe quite a bit. I love the fact that I just had to pay the "brain specialist" $240 to come into the hospital room for 5 minutes and tell me that my head was OK, and when I asked him about my shoulder because it really hurt he smugly told me that he "doesn't do anything below the neck".Besides all that spending time with family was great. It had been way to long since I have spent a good couple days down in the Springs. We went to Matt's house in Parker for Christmas Eve and Day, then down to my parents for the rest of the weekend. I bought another pattern off of Etsy to make mittens for my sister, and Matt's little sister and mom (thanks Sara and Bonnie...I'm kind of addicted) They turned out pretty good for my first try....by the third set I think I'm getting the hang of it.We got a lot of kitchen themed presents from both our families...They are all really excited for us to get going on this redo! So am I!!! Its just that whole money thing again. It will be done this year!
