37 weeks...

We are now down to 19 days until my due date!!  HOLY CRAP ;)  I definitely feel like he is running out of room.  Each movement feels more like a push or stretch, and sometimes they hurt.  At times I have several spots where there is something hard...like his arm, leg, butt?  Who knows?
I am not sleeping well right now, between sinus pressure, getting up several times to use the bathroom, and now back pain...it pretty much sucks.  But I will suck it up for the next couple weeks, cause he can stay in there just a bit longer ;)  I just really can't believe how fast it has gone!

We are going to a friends house tonight for New Years...we will see if I can actually make it until midnight ;)

MERRY NEW YEAR!!!
I love you guys!  Be safe!

Christmas 2012

This year everyone came up here to celebrate Christmas.  Matt and I were not too comfortable with driving down to the Springs and Parker this year...I am definitely into that uncomfortable time period now.  Our tiny little house was crowded, but cozy, with 9 adults and 6 dogs!!  And next year there will be 10 people and probably many more presents ;)  It was so nice to have everyone here together, Christmas was great, and it finally snowed!

 Brothers ;)

Paybacks are...

Awesome!!!
When my friends Kim and Nik had their son Henry I had made them a onesie with a picture of the two of them from the first Halloween they were together...I think it said something like "these are my parents...help me"  Something similar anyway ;)

These are the onesies that we got from them...I have not laughed that hard in a long time.  They are PERFECT!!!

Onesies

Here are some of the onesies from the shower...Sara, you will get to the "inappropriate" ones at the bottom...

Although...I love the Slap and Pickle one...which people will totally get if they have seen Beerfest (that movie makes me laugh every time, and I have seen it many many many times)

Christmas Tree Hunt

Sunday we made our traditional trip up to the Red Feather area to cut down our Christmas tree.  There was NO snow this year, which was really kind of a bummer.  But, on the other hand, it was good this year because I could actually hike around with Matt to look.  If there were 2 feet of snow like last year, there would've been no way I could have done that, easily anyway.
We always have a great time, and the dogs love it...next year will be much different ;)

32 weeks

For you Lola ;)
I have just been a little lazy about getting them up here...
I feel like I am getting bigger every day and I am still going, it's hard to imagine that that is even possible!
Matt has been keeping a countdown on our chalkboard in the kitchen...It's so crazy being down in the 2 digit numbers.  When he started there were well over 200!
So it goes (from top to bottom) Total number of weeks in a pregnancy, weeks I am at, how many weeks I have left, 7 days in a week, to days I have left to go...the days part REALLY puts things into perspective!

Crib

Here are a couple pictures of the crib :)  Matt worked so hard on it, it looks awesome!

Baby Shower

Last weekend was our "baby" shower here at the house, our families were here (almost all of them) and a ton of friends came over too.  I am not one for shower games and things like that, so everyone was invited (guys and girls) there was food, drinks, football, and music.  Everyone got to see the nursery which is almost done.  The crib is finished!!
I was/am so overwhelmed with everyone and how generous and wonderful our friends and families are.  It meant so much to us that people braved the weather and came over to share in this crazy new adventure we are about to go on ;)

Here are just a few pictures...we really didn't take any during the actual shower (just way too much going on)

My sister made this diaper cake!  It is the cutest thing ever!  She did such a great job, I don't want to take it apart...so it's still intact at the moment.  She is such a great sister, so thoughtful, I know she is going to be a wonderful aunt!!

The 4 blankets are from my mom!  Baby's life would not be complete without something Grandma made :)  I love them!

I also had a bunch of onesies that people could draw on, whatever they felt like...most of them (like this one that Matt's mom did turned out perfect) there are a few that arrived later that will only be worn around the house (maybe)

Nursery Progress

We started working on the nursery/guest room a few weeks ago...I think we have definitely made some good progress!  Still a long way to go.

Before
 After
Matt put up that shelf and installed the lights...an idea I got from Pinterest (I have a slight obsession with that website)
The plaid quilt on the bed is for his crib, it is the "inspiration" for the room...we don't really have a theme
His sisters baby shower present...all of his old "hot wheels"!  Perfect!!
I made new curtains for the room...still deciding if I like them.  Unlike me, Carl decided pretty quickly that he likes the new glider :)

26 weeks

Ok...here is an updated belly pic :)
I am 26 weeks now, I have a doctors appointment tomorrow and unfortunately this time I have to get a couple shots and blood drawn for the glucose test.  Everything seems to be going well. I have swelling in my ankles, strangely my right more then my left.  And now my legs have started too if I have been standing all day.  It's pretty gross, not to mention on top of that I have all these spider veins that have popped up along with varicose veins (awesome).  Thank god it's getting cold out, so I can wear pants!!

We have been working on the "Nursery/guest room" quite a bit.  It's been repainted and I made curtains this weekend.  Matty installed a wall shelf with lighting that looks great!  I will post those pictures soon.
(ps- the second picture is what happens when I have Matt help by taking the pics...things get silly)

22 weeks

I had a doctor visit today...everything is going well :)  I have gained 14 pounds, which I think is ALOT, but the doctor said it was right on track, so that is good.  I feel like I have really "popped out" within the last couple weeks (and comparing pictures I definitely have) My back is finally feeling better, hopefully that continues.
I feel him move much much more now...active little guy.  Matt finally felt him for the first time on Sunday night!  One big kick, that was it, then both of them went to sleep ;)

more ultrasound...

We also got a little video of baby, yawning/swallowing?  You can see his little tongue!!  SOOOOO mind blowing!!
After all the measurements she told us that he is approximately 14oz, almost a pound!  At the age that he is supposed to be he should be around 12oz or so.  And she said usually the head measures the largest, which in his case is not true because his abdomen is measuring bigger then his head!  He is already fat ;)  I guess all those years of talking about how cute fat kids are is coming back to haunt me a little ;)

It's a...

We had our ultrasound appointment this Friday...both families came up for the big event (minus Matt's older sister Andrea, she lives in Nebraska which totally sucks for little things like this)  The ultrasound technician was amazing, I had asked her if the whole family could be in there to see the ultrasound and she was very accommodating (whole family being 6 adults, plus me and Matty)
We did the serious stuff first, she looked at my kidneys since I have been having all this pain in my lower right back and lower abdomen. It was so bad I couldn't sleep a couple nights.  Everything looks good, no stones :)  So apparently I cannot walk Pete...he pulled too hard the other night and probably tweaked a muscle (I hate being this fragile...I'm not used to that at all)
Then she did all the baby measurements...Matt and I were so good. (at least I think he was) We did not look at the screen the whole time, just in case we were to see something that gave the sex away ;)  The tech said everything was measuring pretty normal...OK now the reveal :)

She brought the whole family in and started the scan at baby's head...showing us feet, hands, ears!  (takes after me and my dad it looks like in that department!!)

Then she freezes the screen...and asks this question (it's on bottom of the picture...along with our answer)

So yes...we realize that BOY is not a body part...but I think we were ALL in a little bit of shock and awe at that point, she is lucky she got an answer at all!!

Pregnant Peach

Dann and Whitney do a little home brewing as a hobby right now...I have been "suggesting" (or nagging) them for a while now to do a fruity beer.  Matty and I came across a delicious box of peaches a month or so ago and asked if we could give them some to make some sort of peach yumminess :)  And they did!  And they named it for me "Pregnant Peach Pale Ale", bottling will happen soon if it didn't already happen Monday, and after that it should keep until I can actually enjoy it!  I'm so excited :)
What great friends!

20 Weeks

Well Lo...ask and you shall receive ;)

I am 20 weeks right now, half way through!  I have been doing pretty well. No major problems...except that one of my ankles has decided to swell, only my right one (which is weird).  And the other thing of recent is that I have had some major back pain the past 3 days or so (it's kind of my back/side area, and sometimes the front?).  It started last week and it was not too bad, I think Pete pulled on the leash too hard the other night and tweaked my back.  But we were up in Estes Park for John and Laura's wedding and I was sleeping on a different bed, now it hurts pretty bad.  Hopefully a few nights in my own bed will make it feel better, otherwise I will have to make an appointment.
I am pretty sure I am feeling the baby move :)  It is so hard to tell and I don't want to make it up in my head.  It has not been terribly consistent, but I usually feel it when I sit down after being up and running for a bit and when I lay down...it's kind of comforting to feel whatever it is I am feeling :).   That started about a week and a half ago?
We have an appointment to have an ultrasound done this Friday, the 7th.  Hopefully everything is on track and baby is developing normally (I am SO paranoid), and yes, we should be finding out the sex as well that day!! (as long as baby cooperates)  Both our families are coming up, and hopefully they will allow a rowdy bunch of 1st time aunties and grandparents in the room!  (I have to call still)

Apples!

We have apples again!  I guess trees produce every other year, and this year is a good one.  It's been so warm here that we have already been able to pick some apples and use them.  Matt was busy last weekend, making applesauce and apple butter...it's SO good!
