Cone Head Bro's

Pete's brother Goose was neutered on Friday, they got to see each other today for a little bit...I think it took about 2 seconds for them to figure out how to position their cones so they could bite each others faces. It was pretty entertaining. Matt also bought himself a shotgun today for pheasant hunting...He pointed this movie out to me, I almost bought it ;) If he starts talking like this and wearing flannels with the sleeves cut off, I might have to cut him off from the hunting world

The sun came out today...Hopefully all this late moisture is good for the grass, and apple tree so we actually get some apples this year, our rhubarb has already started to come out. Arhhhh, Im so ready for spring!

Cone Head

Monday night was miserable...Pete cannot fit in his kennel with his cone on so we had to rig up a small area in the bedroom next to the bed where he could sleep. But he did not sleep, he slammed that cone into everything and anything he could, for pretty much the whole night :(
It's not that he hates his cone and cant get used to it...he could care less that its on, he just barrels through everything and still tries to play with Carl and Riley, so I ended up getting a sedative from work yesterday for him, and last night went MUCH better! The first thing Matty said when he woke up this morning was "drugs are good". I cant wait for next week when he doesn't have to wear it anymore. Two days down, only 8 more to go :(

Pete's big day

It had to happen sometime...Pete got smarter today (or neutered) how ever you see it ;) I have to say being able to be there the whole time and take care of him is a good perk to my job. He did wonderful, but he had a lot done today besides the neuter, he also had a dewclaw removed...the breeder didn't get enough of it when he was a baby and and umbilical hernia repaired. Poor little guy :( He's doing great tonight, like nothing happened...it's going to make the next 2 weeks interesting

First Day of Spring Cabining

We spent the weekend up at Whitney's cabin. It was 70 degrees on Wednesday then we were hit by a winter storm on Friday...we got about 4 inches of snow; gotta love spring. We got up to the cabin Saturday afternoon, and as soon as we warmed the place up we thawed out all the flies, so a good portion of the day was spent vacuuming them up ;) gross! Matty made an amazing pheasant/chucker pot pie, Tim brought the pipes he made for himself and Dann, and the dogs and I hung out. A nice relaxing weekend :)

St. Patricks Day

I had the afternoon off yesterday...it was beautiful! 70 degrees and sunny, a perfect day to sit out on a patio downtown, have some green drinks and watch the show...and by show I mean drunk college kids. (god, I'm old) Have to enjoy the weather while it lasts, they are saying its going to snow 10 inches tomorrow :( I'm ready for spring!!Confetti egg

Weekend

This past weekend was nice. We went out to breakfast Saturday morning, then watched the St. Patrick's Day Parade in old town. The weather was beautiful. Andrea came up later that day to go with us to Whitney's derby bout, all in all it was a very nice weekend.

Lame Day

Well, I got bit by a dog today :(
I've been there almost 4 years and I have only been bit once before by a little dog, and once by a little kitten. Not bad I guess. Today's sucked, it was a 102 pound Bloodhound...he freaked out and got the muzzle off, the next thing I know is I see my arm in his mouth and I feel some pressure and I thought "crap that's not good" Luckily I had my fleece hoodie on so I think that helped. I'm just bruised on one arm and have a small cut on my other arm (not bad really)...hazards of the job, thank got it was not my face!

So big now

Pete is now about 47 pounds!!!
Its hard to remember when we brought him home and he was just 7 pounds :( Here is a picture of him and his best buddy Brewer, who is about 85 pounds...it doesn't look like he has much further to go!! :( I think he might be huge!
