Looking Good Barry

Well my weekend turned out a little crappy...it started out nice and normal. I went to work Saturday morning came home and had lunch. Late in the afternoon we went downtown because it was a beautiful fall day, sat on the patio and had some beers. We were supposed to go watch Whitney keep score at her roller derby's "Black and Blue Ball" I guess I took that too literally. I don't have much of a memory regarding about a half hour before and about an hour after, but I have been filled in. My friend Mike and I were on our way to Rollerland I was trying to come across to the right side of the street where he was (on the correct side of the road) Anyway the sidewalk ended, there was a curb, I was leaning in preparation for it...too far over my handle bars, and flipped over the front of my bike. Landing on my face...and my shoulder. When I came to, we were in the hospital, I had already had a CT Scan and well I fractured my skull, three different bones. The temporal, basiler, and sphenoid. I have also separated my shoulder, its just a mild separation. They did another CT Scan Sunday morning and said it looked normal. So I am OK...just really beat up and pretty embarrassed. My sister and my parents came up Sunday and spent the day with me and Matt at the hospital, and my friend Mike that called the ambulance and was there with me until Matt got there came to visit...and he bought me a helmet ;) So the lesson here...no saki bombs before riding a bike!! And always wear a helmet!!! Don't enlarge the pictures if you are squeamish....Sorry it pretty graphic...I made Matty take that picture of me so I could see what I looked like. Then I started crying, he wouldn't take another.

Still Crazy

You would think that she's slowed down a little by now... Not really! Same as its always been constantly wanting to have something thrown for her, she does take a few mini breaks here and there, but they don't last long.

Awsome dinner!

On Sunday night Matt made an amazing dinner that he found on "The Wednesday Chef" blog. I don't know if he got that site from you Sara, but its pretty good.
The dish is called Mark Bittman's Hainanese Chicken with Rice (if you go check it out) It's pretty easy and very tasty. I took pictures because I was hungry and it just looked so good!
The chicken is cooked with garlic and ginger, when that's done you cook rice in some of the leftover broth.
Then saute the chicken with veggies...they did it with grape tomatoes and small cucumbers, but we used red peppers and sugar snap peas. I could eat this all the time...Yeah Yeah I know its not surprising, its chicken of course I would eat it all the time.

Last weekend

Matt and I went down to Parker to visit his family this weekend, his older sister was visiting from Nebraska. It was a nice weekend. I ate way too much and did very little. On Sunday we went down to the shooting range...I don't know what you call it.

Matt's dad was in a clay pigeon shooting competition that morning. He also hunts pheasants, which we had for dinner that night. They were very good. No I didn't shoot it was way too cold, but it was fun watching Matt and his family, they are a little competitive ;)

I took the day off from work Monday and met my Mom and Sister down at Park Meadows Mall for a girls day. It was a really nice day, we did a little bit of shopping and had lunch at Champs. I really wanted to get a picture of the three of us, but our waitress was not the nicest person and then we all forgot :( Next time!! It was really good spending the day with them...it doesn't happen often enough!

Happy Anniversary!

Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!
You are two of the most amazing people I will ever know in my life.
38 years of love, children, hardships, friendship, romance...
I love you two so much, and wish I could only aspire to be as strong as you both are!
You are amazing!

Bounty

Tonight is actually going to get cold enough to frost over...so we panicked a little bit and tried to figure out what to do about the garden. It seems like everything was very slow this year. We are just starting to get a majority of our peppers, and our tomatoes are finally ripening. We picked pretty much everything that was ready or close to ready. Anyone know what to do with about 20 jalapenos? Have you ever had a red one? Still a little kick to them, but sweeter.
In an attempt to save our little garden and protect them from the cold we covered them with a tarp...well, two tarps and a couple blankets and a mattress cover. It is the greatest white trash attempt at gardening I have ever seen. I wonder what our neighbors must think. There garden is always so nice and well taken care of. Hopefully it works and we can salvage some of the veggies we still have trying to grow. Its actually supposed to rain/snow this weekend!
