Tonight is actually going to get cold enough to frost over...so we panicked a little bit and tried to figure out what to do about the garden. It seems like everything was very slow this year. We are just starting to get a majority of our peppers, and our tomatoes are finally ripening. We picked pretty much everything that was ready or close to ready.
Anyone know what to do with about 20 jalapenos? Have you ever had a red one? Still a little kick to them, but sweeter.

In an attempt to save our little garden and protect them from the cold we covered them with a tarp...well, two tarps and a couple blankets and a mattress cover. It is the greatest white trash attempt at gardening I have ever seen. I wonder what our neighbors must think. There garden is always so nice and well taken care of. Hopefully it works and we can salvage some of the veggies we still have trying to grow. Its actually supposed to rain/snow this weekend!

I love how you guys are protecting your veggies. I can't believe it is going to snow. I miss first snows.
perhaps you can try pickeling your jalapenos?? otherwise it's jalapenos morning, noon, night! awesome veggies
I thought sheets was what you were supposed to cover them with!?!
I too am having a slow veggie year. I left mine out and they all seem to still be alive. I am waiting for my cucumber to get bigger as well as my peppers.
Aww! How domesticated of you! You two should eventually construct a green house for your veggies. I'm so envious, #1 of the cold weather and #2 that you actually have a garden of your own to grow veggies! :) xoxoxo
