Matt's family came up and helped encourage us to do a little more than we thought we would...
We pulled up that nasty carpet, to unveil another layer of nasty carpet, only to be followed by a layer of linoleum. (there are actually two layers of that, but Matt's dad thinks there is asbestos due to the time it was built, so we are not messing with it, just covering it up with our tile)

i love the remodel pictures. Keep them coming. I can't wait to see the final product.
2 layers of carpet?? What were the previous owners thinking? I still laugh when you say you had to vacuum your kitchen.
