Riley had her surgery today and everything went pretty well. They were able to make the "window" in her pericardium to prevent future bleedings that could build up there again, and then they were actually able to get the tumor out without opening her up, they used the scope :) Awesome. So she is now in intensive care, she will be there overnight, and hopefully ready to come home tomorrow. ;) The tumor has been submitted for histopath to determine what kind it is...we will take this one step at a time. If need be, we will do chemotherapy. Hopefully it does not come back as that...its a small chance that it wont.
ANYWAY...the major scary surgery is over for now, she is still "critical" at least, hopefully only for tonight. Recovery is about 2 weeks...I have 2 friends that work at CSU one was actually scrubbed into her surgery and the other my friend Kim was just pestering all the students and staff on her case, letting them know how important she is, and loving on her right until they took her in. They are AWESOME!!! It made me feel better to know that they were there when I couldn't be. Hopefully she does well overnight...

Oh Mush, I'm sorry Riley isn't feeling well!!! I know how hard that can be. I'm glad the surgery went well... hope she makes a speedy recovery and doesn't need additional treatment!!!
